We created these guidelines to help keep RateMyFieldwork.com a supportive, respectful, and useful space for students. By sharing a review, comment, or message, you’re agreeing to follow the rules below.
Our goal is not to censor honest feedback — it’s to create a space that’s helpful and safe for everyone. If content doesn’t meet these guidelines, we may remove it or limit access to certain users.
What to Keep in Mind When Submitting a Review:
Speak from your own experience. Please share only your personal, first-hand fieldwork experience. Avoid rumors, second-hand stories, or speculation.
Try to keep your review relevant to your fieldwork site and avoid unrelated or off-topic comments.
Protect patient and staff privacy. Don’t include names or identifying information of patients, staff, or supervisors. Don’t share any patient cases or health details, even if well-intended. Instead of using names, feel free to say “my CI” or “my supervisor.”
Be honest, but fair. It’s okay to share challenging or negative experiences — just try to avoid presenting opinions as proven facts, especially when making serious claims. If something can’t be verified or could harm someone’s reputation, we may choose not to post it.
Keep things respectful. Reviews should focus on your experience, not on attacking or insulting others. Mocking, name-calling, or personal jabs aren’t allowed.
Hateful or discriminatory content isn’t welcome. Any comments that promote racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, or religious/political hate will be removed. That includes slurs, stereotypes, or targeted remarks about identity.
Keep it appropriate. Please avoid sexual comments, remarks about someone’s appearance, explicit language, profanity, or threats of harm.
Don’t post multiple reviews about the same site just to emphasize a point. And please don’t encourage others to target or harass individuals.
All posts must follow local, state, and federal laws. If you witnessed something illegal or unsafe, the best step is to report it to your fieldwork site’s HR department or the proper authorities — not this platform.
Don’t post content you didn’t write yourself, and don’t pretend to be someone else.
No advertising. Please don’t use the site to promote businesses, products, or services.
